Happy 4th of July!
I did it! I did it! I finally have something I didn’t break or destroy from my pottery class to give to my mother!
I have quite the mishaps with anything I make for my mom in pottery class. I made her a planter in March for her birthday. It broke into a hundred pieces in the kiln. And then these vases had to be stripped of their glazes because one of the glazes was too thick. Needless to say, this was going to be her mother’s day present….and now it’s 4th of July!
Here is what my mom asked for:
She asked for a ring of vases that were split in two so she could put them on either side of her umbrella pole on her outdoor picnic table. We have seen glass vase rings that are one solid ring, so you have to remove your umbrella every time you change your flowers. No thanks! This is truly a better way to go.
It’s a great idea actually, because you use the inner table but keep the vital space you want for entertaining.
I made some red, white and blue bouquets to bring to my moms today for the 4th of July. I just said in yesterday’s post what a hard time I have cutting my Asiatic Lilies because I do enjoy looking at them in my garden, but Mom, you’re worth it!!!
I also got some of my other vases I designed in pottery class back this week. So since I was out in the gardens, I thought it only fitting to cut & arrange some flowers for me to!
I just adore flowers. I just adore summer! Now let’s all get out there and have some fun!!!
i LOVE that vase ring! If you feel like making another, I will be more than happy to buy it from you.
You reminded me that my pottery should be ready to take home. I didn’t think I’d be in town today so I passed on going to my teacher’s house for a pot luck dinner tonight. My finished pieces would have been on display with everyone else’s work. Sorry I missed it. I might have to wait until September before I get to see them. Your work is lovely.
