It was so nice to wake up and hop into my outdoor shower. It will probably only look clean and pristine for about a week. I better enjoy it while I can!
Today I repainted a bud vase of dahlias. I wasn’t thrilled with my first attempt:
because I had tried to lift the watercolor from the petals but the paper pilled. Today I painted them with the wet on wet technique, no layers, nothing to lift. The flower petals are technically a lot cleaner in today’s painting.
It’s amazing how different the two paintings are. I felt like I learned a lot from the first painting. By the time I had finished it, I had finally figured out how I should have tackled it in the first place. Guess that’s why they say hindsight is 20/20.
That whole learning curve thing.
