Another crazy day. I set the alarm for 6 am and painted until 9:30 and then I was gone for the day.
Today was a very special day.
My husband opened his second computer store. It was so awesome to see people who have been with us from the beginning. The beginning was 11 years ago in a tiny room in our house. Then he got big enough to remodel the garage. Customers would drop their computers off at the house. Employees would come in through the back door. We had babies running around the house, computers everywhere and then he finally became strong enough to venture into a real retail establishment. That was a very big step several years ago and he’s kept at it, plugging away, doing the best job he can on any given day.
He works so darn hard.
He’s now made it through one of the country’s toughest economies and is still standing. He’s gone from one employee (himself) to having 14 employees. Now a second location. It has to feel really good. I hope he is able to be still enough for just a moment, to take it all in. I’m very proud of my husband. He is an amazing person to share my life with.
OK. enough with using my blog as a public-gush-forum. Let’s just say it was a busy day. So busy I didn’t get to finish my darn painting!!! Tomorrow I am not getting up from my table until it’s finished, I don’t care how many family members are staying with us, I’m painting!
As far as art goes, today I focused on the details of the Goya Coconut can. There are stripes running through it which are supposed to represent the ribbing in the can, but it didn’t translate. I’m going to have to figure that out tomorrow. I have some ideas. I also started plugging away at the striped fabric, but I have to show great patience and reserve, because if I try to paint all the stripes in at once, the colors would all run into one another making a big muddy mess. So I have to hop around and wait for certain stripes to dry before I introduce another color right next to it.
So that was that, more baby steps today, but I did the best I could on this given day.
And I can live with that.
On to tomorrow!
