Wrapping Up The Holidays

I am just beginning to exhale after my last holiday show this past Saturday.

My final event was our own First Annual Open House. It felt good. It was a great day.

So now that I can take a moment, I compiled some photos of some fun pottery I created this season. I should be called “The Potter for the Muppets”. Because this season was filled with zany animals such as chickens, birds, cats, owls and frogs. Why you ask? I guess it’s because I enjoy happy, funny and personal attributes in my work. Oh and don’t forget a good dose of color and pattern! It’s not for everyone, but I figure I need to create for people who enjoy some of the same things I do. What’s the alternative? The alternative would be traditional and safe. I figure there’s plenty of potters taking care of those needs ;)

So here are some of my favorite photos of the season:

My basement is empty. All the pottery I have left can be found at Finishing Touches in Wakefield, South County Art Association and Wickford Art Association.

Sunday I slept late. Boy that felt good and the rest of the day I spent decorating the house for Christmas. I’m looking forward to slowing down a bit and stopping to smell the pine bows.

There’s just one thing I’ve put off in the past month… My feeling is that I could probably go another week before it’s a safety hazard. So if you don’t hear back from me, check in. I’ll have my husband post a photo of my feet hanging out from the laundry like the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz ;)

Happy Holidays everyone. Squeeze the ones near and dear to you and treat yourself with kindness.

Here’s to 2022!
